The Journey Has Begun

Bringing in the new year the majority of people will make a new year resolution to go to the gym, lose weight, eat healthy etc. I started this blog to make me feel accountable for myself and REALLY taking care of myself. I want to not only prove to myself that I have self discipline, but I want to show that anything is possible. If you put your mind and body into it then you can achieve anything you want.

I have accepted the Insanity Workout challenge stating today 2/19/2013. For me it's not about the weight loss, and it's not about showing up anyone. It's about learning what my weaknesses are and challenging my body. We only get one chance to live our lives, but it comes down to the quality and the length at which we live it. I have been engulfed in a life right now of going to school full-time, as well as working full-time, all of which are challenging, but not the challenge for my body. I find myself feeling slugish and not as energic as I have felt before, and the chilly winter weather doesn't seem to make it feel any better.

It is easy to find reviews online about how people have pushed themselves in becoming healthy, but in the back of your mind sits the thought of "is this really true?" I am starting this blog for the intention of showing others that real people can get through rough patches in their lives if they set their minds to it (this can entail anything, not just a physical challenge).

I am a friend, sister, daughter, student, girlfriend, granddaughter... I am so many things to so many people. I am so grateful to be all those things, but I need to take time for myself. This is my time and I am very excited and happy to do something for me. I can't stress enough about giving time to yourself to take care of who you are. I am pleased to say that I have an abundance of support from my boyfriend, family and friends. They have all come into my life giving me the strength to do anything and help me stand when I feel weak. Having someone in your life who can make you feel good about yourself, and give you strength you need to get you through tough time, makes dealing with situations a lot calmer. My life is not easy by any means, nor is it extremely difficult. It is definitely stressful trying to take care of me in the midst of all the chaos. As soon as I start my journey tonight, then I will begin redefining me. 60 days to prove to me and everyone else that anything is possible.

***Shout out to my freinds who have completed the first month of this program. You have given me much encouragement.
